Melinda Oswandel is a NJ based photographer who specializes in concerts and the great outdoors along with retouching. She was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and Detroit, so the sights and music of these cities became part of who she is, and led to a fascination with photographing Detroit local bands and other activities around the area. She soon realized that she wanted to make it more than just a hobby.
A photography education and a three week digital course in Florence, Italy stimulated Melinda's interest, and made her realize how much she loved being "out and about" capturing the beauty and action that seemed to be everywhere. From landscapes, nature and sunsets to cemeteries, graffiti and abandoned buildings, she loves to be out and about capturing the world around her.
Melinda's work has been published in many mediums such as in album artwork, Kerrang, Modern Drummer, Alternative Press, Billboard Magazine, RollingStone.com and The New York Times.
Melinda has been involved for almost 20 years now and has worked for different photography firms in the New York Metro Tri-State Area, where she resides with her husband and dog, honing her skills in photography, Photoshop and other techniques.
